The Recording Process

The recording process itself was actually really painless. For the majority of the time I got the sound I wanted on the first or second take. The recording process as a whole took the best part of the day because I had to set up a few scenarios and wait until the house was quite enough to use certain areas because my family kept popping in and out.

The most tricky part was the recording of the bed rustling sounds as I couldn't use the boom pole and shock mount for those sound assets. To get those sounds I used the mic clip that came standard with my Rode NTG-2 and attached that to a mic stand I have and positioned that over my bed. That way I was free to move my whole body on the bed to get the required sound assets as there was no boom pole or wires to get in the way. The mic was held in place over the bed pointing at the duvet and so I could isolate just that sound and use my whole body to get it.

Every other sound was pretty straight forward to capture.
