Noting Sounds

A really valuable exercise I thought it good to carry out was to go through the film in full listening closely and pause it overtime I saw or heard a sound that might need adding in. Foley is used to add texture as I have already mentioned. So if I saw a movement that didn't have any strong sound to accompany it or if an action had a sound that sounded really bad or thin I would note it down as which sound I needed to capture to fill it in.

I noted them in chronological order so that I could just work back through the sheet again in a way that made sense when editing. Here is the document I ended up with:

There was quite a lot to capture. Luckily it was only in a few environments so there wouldn't be too much moving around required I could stay in one or two rooms and get all the sounds I needed. With this list I was good to go to record all the assets needed and check them off as I go so I know where I am and what's left to capture.
