Film Photography

Film photography as I previously mentioned is a style I want to incorporate into my poster design so I thought I would look at some examples that inspire me here.

I love this style that film carries with it. The pushing up of the black point. The point of darkest black in the image is actually a dark grey. It's not perfect black it sits with a bit of white in the blackest point. This is a really aesthetically pleasing look and carries with it very strong connotations with film photography. This is something I will definitely look to employ in my poster design.

I love the darkness of the image being lifted and placed higher than perfect black. I think for the concept I have in mind though and keeping in with the ink on paper feel I want to capture I think that keeping to a black and white colour space is what is needed.

I think that the style of this type of image looks amazing and also has close ties to the ink on paper themes I want to express.
