Act two is the beginning of the decent in the film. This is where the protagonist realises something is wrong and experiences some strange events. This is reflected by another drop in saturation and an overall darkening of the image. This depresses the images and adds an intensity and uncertainty because it immediately follows such a vibrant, colourful sequence.
The above shot is very subdued with washed out skin tones and a general darkness that hasn't been presented yet. This is because the protagonist shows his first symptoms in this scene and realises something might be wrong.
Here the character is lonely and seeking company after a day of feeling uneasy. The colours are again muted and darkness plays a much bigger role. The dark parts of the frame are brought way down to highlight the feeling of isolation and loneliness.
This scene is where things go to another level and his symptoms take control bringing him to be sick in the sink. There is a lot of green in this scene which is typically the colour associated with nausea and sickness. This subtly evokes feelings of fear and unrest for the viewer and shows that the protagonist is not in a good way.
The darkness in the shot continues here too to reenforce the feelings of uncertainty and fear. This scene is a pivotal moment and the heavy amount of green is a very prominent feature.
This is the last shot when he stops waiting for a reply and moves out to run and find the girl who did this. The green is slightly less present and the light has returned somewhat to show that the symptoms are fading and he is starting to take control.
