The Recording Process

The recording process itself was a lot longer and more stressful than I had envisioned. I found it really tricky to come up with something that was interesting enough to cover the montage sequence that followed the emotive key points. I wanted to keep everything simple with only a few chords and then lay over the top of that an interesting little solo idea in the style of BB King, John Mayer and Gustavo Santaolalla. 

I found it difficult though to have a simple chord structure that went through a series of emotional changes and write a solo idea that encompasses everything without overpowering the rest of the music and taking attention away from anything.

However, I finally think I did it. I am really happy with the song I recorded for the montage scene and I think that it suits the film really nicely. I am yet to record other bits for the rest of the film but I think they will predominantly be ambient parts without as much focus on changing emotions and structure.
