This is a concept that I do not utilise as often as I should. I have created a spreadsheet that documents the amount of time that I have and what tasks I intend to accomplish by which points in the project. It is a hugely useful document however, I rarely use it because the projects I undertake are generally quite short and only consist of one or two components so a time planning document would be redundant and, ironically, waste time.
Anyway, I have created one for this project as there is quite a few jobs that need doing and to keep on top of them I have mapped it out in a clear fashion that I can understand. Hopefully, I can follow it exactly. Here is the document:
I have tried to keep everything reasonable and in a linear order. The sound cannot be done before the visuals are complete and then once it is all melded together and a theme is strongly established the marketing can be created.
I have been quite generous with the editing time because that is the part that relies on teamwork with Jamie (the Bournemouth uni student who's film this is). I'm not sure how long this process will take with him but three weeks seems more than sufficient so with any luck there will be more time for everything else and I can spend a little more time doing some of the smaller jobs.
I intend to update with a later blog post my progress through this document and whether or not I am on time or ahead/behind. Along with possibly factoring in unforeseen jobs if and when they arise. But for now this is a final version of my time management document and from this everything seems a little more daunting.
